Following a 1200 calorie diabetic diet plan is a good way to get in control of diabetes mellitus. "Calorie diets are helpful for people with diabetes. The principle behind a calorie diabetic diet is controlling daily calorie intake and thus reducing weight and maintaining blood glucose levels."(1)
When you follow specific diabetic meal plans 1200 diet calories can be very satisfying, but there are some guidelines to consider.
Knowing the guidelines to follow is helpful but sometimes the clearest explanation comes in the form of an actual menu that adds up to 1200 calories. Feel free to follow the sample 1200 calorie diabetic diet plan below or modify some of the food choices to suit your taste.
